yeah… thats a fd of mine with 1200 SAT and nothing special got into Macalester with almost full scholarship simply becoz she goes to an UWC in Norway. and Mac has this special connection network that admits tons of UWCers… thought you’re an intl schooler too… you went to highschool in HK?

nice

i knew that from your previous posts

well, i guess that makes me the first person to be doing this. i even started a thread sometime back. does that make me special? :D

reject everywhere. no waitlist, no deferral, nothing.

The assumption that the person in that situation “won’t be going to college” is false. Someone who got rejected from “everywhere” could go to a community college or, possibly, a state college with a later/looser deadline and non-selective admissions. Then they could try to apply as a transfer student the next year, or even for Winter term, only this time they’d likely shoot for colleges that are better (true) matches.

the starter of this thread is a jerk.

i think he/she was banned for the racial comment she made…

mikekobe…uhhh…that’s er…

I think there was someone’s child a while ago in the parents forum.

Alyssa, I’m so sorry, good luck with everything

do you people know eachother outside the forum or what?

I applied to ten colleges for fall 2002 admission and was rejected everywhere. I ended up taking a little over a year off and going to a CCC.

I applied to:

UCR
UCSC
CSU Fullerton
CSUSB
UCLA
CSULB
UCI
SDSU
UCSB

My GPA was 2.7
My SAT’s were 940
I had a lot of issues in HS, was told by my GC to not waste my time applying to 4-year colleges because my stats were so unimpressive. I’ve never told my family ( I wasn’t living with them at that time.) or anyone else until now that I applied to anywhere at all. I guess that I was too ashamed.

i really hope things workout for u .
