Anyone see Contagion this weekend?

I was very disappointed in this highly praised movie, found it quite boring, lacking focus and theme, and a sad waste of some fine actors. Wondering what others thought.

I enjoyed it.

I also thought it was very anti-climatic and some plot threads just seemed to fade away. It was the first time in a long time I considered going online to see if anyone else felt the same way that I did.

We thought it was awful. I was amazed that a movie could have that many Oscar winners and be that bad. I found it to be disjointed and dull.

I didn’t know anything about it before I went to see it, and just based on the name I was expecting some sort of fun post-apocalyptic zombie-type move.

It played more like a promotional film for the CDC.

It was ok. I had some issues with how they handled some things, like where did all the people go in Matt Damon’s neighborhood? The stated death rate wasn’t high enough for them to all have disappeared like that.

I get to see movies for free, so I tend to be less critical than if I had paid.

I went with H to see it because his job involves public health issues, spread of viruses, and he works closely with the CDC at times so I thought he’d enjoy it. I totally agree with all of the comments above, though. It was disjointed and left out so many issues.

However, I will say that when I walked out of the theater, I didn’t touch anything

H and I tossed a coin and decided to see “The Debt” instead. The acting was good, but it was very confusing. When we left the theatre, I asked him why it was called “The Debt?” No idea!!! We suggest waiting for X-finity or the DVD on this one.

We are looking forward to Moneyball. Also to Spielberg’s movie War Horse.

When we were seeing Contagion, there was a preview for Moneyball. It looked pretty good. But the best trailer was the one for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Can’t wait for that one!

As much as I would really enjoy seeing big celebrities die horribly…I just can not get excited about disease movies. This one is dead in the water for me.
