Anyone seen anything like this?

A week ago, Southern Arkansas University sent me a little letter signed by HAND from the dean informing me that I have been accepted and granted a full ride.

This is different from those Mississippi/Alabama/Tulsa/etc spam mails where you still have to apply and change your national merit finalist recipient.

They do not want anything from me, nothing, nona, no application, no score report, no high school transcript. All they want is a signature on the backside of the letter with a sentence of acceptance within 15 days.

Obviously, there is no chance in hell that I am going there, but I was wondering if others on CC know of other colleges that do this?

Also, this is not a NMF thing, rather they said it was based on my “ACT score” and “academic excellence”, which they have no access to. I am “pretty” sure that I have never sent them anything. My school does not have my ACT score. How did they get access in the first place?

That sounds kinda shady.

I did know a friend who got a legit full ride to Kansas State because of his SAT scores. But he didn’t get a hand-written letter.

*hand signed

My bad, I completely misread.

Hand signed isn’t weird. I had a dean from TCU send me two letters of acceptance and the signatures on both were slightly different.
