<p>How can U of Chicago beat Princeton?</p>
<p>It’s for grad school. Also, the ranking gets its source from another ranking published in the UK, so British schools rank abnormally high.</p>
<p>Chicago is a better grad school than Princeton is. But also, Chicago students are apparently seen as better workers than their Princeton counterparts, at least according to employers, who give Chicago a 99 and Princeton a 96 rating.</p>

<p>Yes. It includes a lot of employers outside of high finance, hedge funds, PE shops, management consulting firms, white shoe law firms, etc. If I’m not mistaken, schools like Cornell, Berkeley, and Michigan. got rated much higher than Brown, Dartmouth, and Penn. I could be wrong here.</p>

<p>Seriously, though, it’s not really a surprise that Chicago students are seen as better workers than Princeton students. Especially since this ranking inevitably includes the performance of graduates of Booth, who are regarded extremely highly.</p>
<p>I don’t thnk that’s USNews’ ranking. That looks like the ranking compiled by THE-QS, a British publication.</p>

<p>I pay a lot of attention to USNEWS but their world ranking has the least of my interest as it is all wrong, simply look at schools ranked within their top 20 for 2009.</p>
<p>As long as The University of Iowa is no where to be seen, it seems accurate to me. Seriously Coolbrezze. Michigan BLOWS away Iowa. Get over it already!</p>

Lol over what? I do not care for the University of Michigan or it’s where abouts on ranking but speaking of the school yes it is ridiculous to think that University of Michigan is a top 100 (etc…) school in the world. Iowa is a better school than University of Michigan and I have no doubts. </p>

<p>Coolbreeze, whether or not you think Iowa is a better or worse school than Michigan is absolutely up to you. But how could you think Michigan isn’t a good school? Even some of the biggest fans of a rival Big 10 school can acknowledge and/or respect Michigan as a fine school.</p>

<p>USNWR world rankings are not as popular as national because thet are taken off THE-QS, which IS the best known source for world rankings next to ARWU.</p>
<p>Also, I’ve never even heard of the University of Iowa until today. Granted, it doesn’t come as a shock that there is one.</p>

<p>Although I didn’t expect to see Michigan in the top 20 worldwide Universities, Michigan has fantastic grad programs and I’m glad for it. I say this as the daughter of a Michigan (Ross School) alum, so maybe I’m slightly biased, but I’m happy to see Michigan getting respect. Ditto for CMU and Chicago, which also rank high.</p>
<p>What surprises me most, to be honest, is the fact that the Asian universities aren’t higher than some of the American universities. Not that I think they’re better; I just thought that from a pure statistics standpoint, they would win.</p>

Don’t feel bad about not hearing of a great school, I never heard of College of William and Mary until I was on cc and although not as great as Iowa it’s a good school.</p>
