I have several book lights, none of which adequately do the job on my Kindle. I don’t want to splurge (yet) on the Kindle cover that comes with a light attachment. Has anyone tried the reading glasses from Foster Grant which have lights inbuilt? Are they any good?

Never heard of these - how much do they cost???

They are $24.99 and are available at Walgreens and Barnes & Noble.

I’d worry that small head motions would cause the light to change and be kind of distracting. Still, they are likely more comfortable than a miner’s helmet.

What about a clip-on booklight? You could adjust the angle & intensity for optimal reading, and look around all you want without light beams coming from your head.

Oh goodie - I want these! I can actualize my kids’ sense that mom’s eyes are beaming bright rays of intensity. Hooboy, B&N here I come. If only I were still teaching middle schoolers…

I have several clip on book lights which either hide some of the text on the Kindle because the clip is bulky or scratch the frame or the light doesn’t cover the whole page or it slips…so none so far that I am content with…they all work at a pinch but annoy me! I am tempted to buy these glasses but wanted to see if anyone had tried them.

I’ve never tried them, but I would be worried that having the lights that close to your eyes would either hurt or make them feel tired. I have a clip on book light and I just clip it to the leather case I keep my kindle in, letting the kindle rest on top. I can clip it directly to the kindle and it doesn’t hide any of the text, but if I am not careful with it it COULD scratch the frame and I don’t like that.

Does the kindle case with the built in light cost significantly more than these glasses? If you’re not SURE these would work, you’re talking a $25.00 experiment plus the cost for the light built in case if you don’t like it. The case that I use and clip a regular clip on book light to was only like $20, so I don’t see why you’d buy the glasses if you won’t splurge on the case.

They’re also available at Rite Aid and CVS…they’re called LightSpecs by Foster Grant and the light is actually directed toward the text (or whatever else you’re looking at), not the eyes. The packaging is just a velcro dot, so it’s easy to open and try before you buy. Here’s a link that shows the illumination:

Try something like this - has many uses when you need a flashlight and both hands free:

[Amazon.com: Energizer Trail Finder 7 LED Head Light (3 AAA Batteries Included): Sports & Outdoors](http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-Trail-Finder-Batteries-Included/dp/B002MFK7H2/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1313901738&sr=8-20)

You can usually aim it and also set it for different light levels.

I have reading glasses with lights and I have a clip on light for my kindle (like this [Amazon.com: Great Point Light Flex Neck Clip-On Reading Light for Kindle: Kindle Store](http://www.amazon.com/LightWedge-Clip-Reading-Light-Kindle/dp/B002VEC47A) but purple - I think purple was on sale).

I thought I would like the reading glasses with lights but I prefer the clip on light. I like the way I can set it to a position I like and then it stays there. If you look away or fidget with the reading glasses with lights, you have to make a bit of effort to get back into the position you were in before.

Reading glasses with lights are “funny;” they will entertain everyone around you.
