Hey everyone, I’m doing a business project on Zipcar. My school isn’t enrolled in the program.
I did a lot of research online + their own website ([Car Sharing, an alternative to car rental and car ownership – Zipcar](http://www.zipcar.com)),
Realized that you guys at UMich are their largest college users, so I thought I’d ask for some feedback here.

To those of you who have used, (or seriously considered using) Zipcar,
- was your experience what you had expected?
- what can be IMPROVED to the Zipcar service to attract even more college students to use it?

Personally, my uncle lives in Manhattan and uses Zipcar all the time. I love it.

thanks guys.

I used Zipcar a lot my senior year for various reasons. I thought it was a great service and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The cars were always clean, well fueled, and at the location at the right time, even if the car was booked back-to-back.

I would say that more students would use Zipcar if the prices were more reasonable and more cars were available on Central. The times when I didn’t use it were when I had to schlep all the way up to North. It is pretty cheap to use when I used it (about $8 an hour) but I usually used it when I had to go a longer distance for a longer time (when I couldn’t ask a friend for a ride) and the cost added up pretty fast. Reducing the membership fee would also be helpful.

There also seemed to be a lack of knowledge about Zipcar on campus. If they did more publicity events people would probably use the service more.

Zipcar definitely needs more cars on the campus. Northwestern also had 4 Zipcars, but it’s a much smaller campus.
