I am newly diagnosed with Afib, and under good care of a cardiologist. Not feeling symptoms, but he wants me to have an Afib App. Which one should I get, and what are pros and cons of different ones?
I am looking at Kardia, which now has a yearly fee, but am okay with paying $99/year for heart health if I need to.
If you have an Afib App, how often are you recording an EKG? Does your doctor actually look at your saved EKG history when you go in for a checkup?
My sil had a heart issue and was having some aFib problems, which she had corrected. But her husband bought her the same Apple Watch I have for her peace of mind.
I love my Apple Watch for many reasons and am mentioning it if it’s something you might be interred in
So my husband was diagnosed with AFib last year. He uses Kardia and is very happy with it. Gets monthly mailed updates. Just an FYI, he got a second opinion, after a diagnosis with a great cardiologist. The second doctor recommended a home sleep study. Turns out he had sleep apnea (which I suspected). The Cpap machine has done wonders for him; no more AFib. And no more recommendations for surgery (ablation). Consult your physician. FYI my husband is a physician (not a cardiologist).
My husband used Kardia and it successfully captured an event. The data was used to diagnose a common, fixable problem!!
His events were getting closer together in time. The first time he had an event with the monitor, he missed capturing the data. The next time, one month later, he got it.
His cardiologist recommended Kardia and looked at the printouts my husband brought in. So did the electrocardiologist he was referred to. Repair was made about one month after data capture and no reoccurrence since.
