<p>One more comment in defense of the resident who wanted to do the chest tube:</p>
<p>If any of you have ever spent time in a fire station with firefighters, you know that when there are long periods between calls, they get very antsy and tense. They are, if you will, eager to go out and do what they do, which is fight fires. Would anyone interpret that as them being “happy” that someone’s house or business catches fire? I hope not. They are just eager to do what they are trained to do and what they love to do, which is fight fires. I think it’s the same with trauma docs, God bless them.</p>
