Description: “A competition with regular people involving a real-life manhunt where they attempt to completely drop off the grid while skilled investigators, who are highly trained in modern investigating tactics and who process the most advanced tracking technology, hunt to catch them. From searching their homes, internet and cell phones, to identifying individuals’ patterns and thinking habits, the Hunters pursuing them and the investigators at their Command Center focus all concentration towards identifying possible hiding places and associates to limit the fugitive’s possibilities and increase the possibility of capture. Eighteen individuals will pair up for a chance at the grand prize of $250,000 which will be awarded to any pairs that successfully evade capture for 28 days.”
Anyone else watching? It’s surprisingly entertaining. I most likely wouldn’t make it out of my driveway before being caught.
Yes! Just watched tonight’s episode. It’s different than anything I have seen before. My husband and I watch tigether and critique their moves. I had no idea about the license plate readers on highways. It is hard to stay off the radar.
It amazes me that people with jobs can be allowed to vanish for 28 days or more with just 1 hour or less notice. Supposedly they let you know of a 14 day window and then you’re told you have 1 hour head start and the chase begins.
I couldn’t tie up loose ends and drop off the grid like that. I’d have a tough time not contacting loved ones for weeks. They also don’t give you that much cash–I guess you could start sticking up on a cash stash beforehand. I’m not so big on depending on the kindness of strangers and hitchhiking is not something I’d do.
I don’t know the SE US well either, so that would also be tough.
I watched part of two episodes, but quit when I started really thinking about it. Some is believable, but some isn’t. How do they get all these cameras to give up information? Who is going to do it for a game show? The same thing with receipts. Why would stores give them info on cell phones purchased? How do they know where to send their drones to look? It’s a shame these people can’t work on real criminal cases if they are so good.
