Anything to boost my chances?

<p>Hey, so I first applied to NYU because my parents wanted me to, but I visited NYU recently and loved the university and really want to go there now. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to boost my chances of getting, and hopefully get some financial aid as well (doubt I 'll get any need-based). </p>

<p>Also here’s my stats. </p>

<p>Rank 38/516
UW GPA: 3.52 (slacking off senior year and a year of all AP’s will do that to you lol)
SAT: 2140 (1510 CR+Math)
ACT: 33
SAT II: 800 Math II, 720 Chem, 770 US History</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Aside from a laundry list of some positions in school clubs, I was a top table tennis player in the state of NC, volunteered and coached a class of 16 kids for 3 years now, did private coaching for money, and also ran a summer camp for 3 years for coaching.
Took a econ class with Duke students during the summer and received an A
Took a Duke TIP macroeconomics class during the summer and received a 5 on the spring exam.
Interned with the People’s Bank of China over the summer. </p>

<p>If it helps to know I got into UNC, NC State, and deferred from Duke. </p>

<p>Anything I can do to help get in and get some financial aid?</p>

<p>At this point there isn’t anything you can really do. I would suggest emailing your regional admissions counselor. To break the ice, ask if all your required materials have been received. Then start a small conversation so they get to know you. There isn’t much besides doing things like this to show you are interested.</p>
