AP- Am I too late?

RD deadline for most colleges is January1 and I haven’t taken AP tests yet. Can I give these tests in may 2014? Will colleges consider my score?

Nope. You can still gain credit, but your scores will come too late to be factored into the admissions process.

I agree with the post above. It would be late, but it’s better than never!

Respond to my forum?

If your going to a good school and you don’t want to major in what your taking the test in, I would think its better to get the credits from the AP test, who wants to spend freshman year taking required courses, and possibly doing bad in them because its a new school etc…

Please suggest another way out. I don’t want to ruin my chances of getting into ivys only beacause of ‘AP’.

AP scores have very little weight in admission. Get good SAT2 scores instead.

AP classes (or self study = needs to be indicated somewhere) show rigor of curriculum and ability.
AP scores will then help you for placement during your first year, and/or for credit (depending on school).
For now, try to take SAT2 tests and to score as high as possible (700+) in 3 tests - only 2 tests are required but 3 tests at 700-750 would certainly look good for you.
