Ap and the SAT

I really need help!
Okay I will be a junior this years, and like most juniors I will be taking my sat this year…the problem is that my shedule is pretty much full…
I thought of taking 5 ap classes this year, with no study halls, but many people are discouraging me saying that it’s better to take 4 ap classes and have time to study for the sat rather than taking 5 ap classes and “cram” to study for the sat. My school doesn’t recommend students to take 5 ap classes without having any study hall…so my counselor told me to think over this summer…what do you guys think??? I need some expertise(sp?)…

Replies would be very thankful

It very much depends on you as an individual and how demanding the AP courses at your school are, as well as how much time and effort you plan to put into studying for the SAT and what EC activities you’ll participate in.
At most schools 5+ APs are certainly manageable for a lot of students, but it depends on what kind of workload YOU can handle and what you’re willing to sacrifice.
I took 4 APs this past year (Junior) received all 5s, and managed 2200+ on my SAT. I don’t think a 5th AP would’ve hurt me (I may have lost a few more hours of sleep though haha)

Sorry for not giving you a clear answer but I hope I helped you realise what you ought to consider. Good luck! :)
