AP BC Calc vs Math II SAT - what to study

I posted this on SATII area with no response.

D is taking AP BC Calc test on May 5 and Math II SAT II on May 1. What, if any, study guide should I get her? (I’m not sure she will even have time to open such a book, as she also has APUSH and AP Chem exams).

AP Calc BC - Barron’s and TPR combination.
I also heard that Peterson’s is good.
Math IIC - Barron’s or TPR. Barron’s is overkill.
Taking these tests… will be challenging, especially AP Calc BC with only about three weeks left.

thanks for the info. We have the Barron’s AP Calc book.

My question is, however, what, if any, study guide(s) should she have for Math II or is studying for AP Calc going to give her sufficient background.

Barron’s already has some cursory review starting from Ch1 Functions, but I think you need Barron’s Math IIC to supplement Calc. Math IIC for barron’s is a very comprehensive (and excessively comprehensive) review book. It holds info such as polar coordinates and polar curves, parametric functions, and other complex functions such as ellipses, hyperbolae, etc to supplement your D’s BC learning. Of course this is only a “review” so do not expect Barron’s Math IIC to teach you everything about Pre Calc, which is a Calc BC requisite.

Since 10th grade I have been dissecting Barron’s starting from Math IIC. And I can tell you that it brought some positive results. I currently have 98/108 for AP Calculus BC, which is well over the cutline for a 5 and I think that with a lot of effort and studying I think your D will have a great score like I do. Hope this info helped.
