I’m not going to lie: it’s hard test. Brutal, actually. Last year there was ridiculous amount of questions on plants, so know that. One of the essay questions was the complicated plant reproduction cycle.

Know the body systems, genetics, go over some labs…

You DON’T need to know phyla.

I thought I was going to get a 3. I got a 5.

So don’t lose hope, okay? Good luck!

Shoot i haven’t even started studying yet…

The MC don’t seem to be excruciatingly painful especially if you have a sense of some of the key points about the topic that they are asking about. Essays…I always hate those. But you can usually logically come up with at least a partially correct answer.

oh god… this might sounds stupid… but what are the labs?

I’m in AP Bio… with an ok kind of bizarre teacher… but the only lab we ever did was cut open a fetal pig… and that could be considered a disaster.

So… what are these labs in which you speak?

Smile0751, Good luck on the exam. Here is what we are talking about very important to know all of these- 1 frq from this and 1/4 of MC also. [AP Biology Lab Review](http://www.ekcsk12.org/faculty/jbuckley/aplabreview/index.htm)

Labs such as the enzyme lab(hydrogen peroxide and the catalyst), photosynthesis (the seeds), and a bunch of others I dont remember.

How much do I need to know about protists? Is the most I need to know the differences between dinoflagellates, diatoms, rhodophyta, etc.?

guys!
i took a 2008 college board-released mock exam for biology and scored 100/150.

what grade does that equate to?

100/150 is a 5.

Protists: next to zero about protists lol.

Are the labs really 1/4 of the MC questions? Because I took a test from a prior year the other day and I only remember a couple questions specifically referencing labs.

Thank you, jzahng722. What about fungi? There’s no way that I’m going to sit here and memorize the intricate differences between ascomycota and basidiomycota. Is it enough to know about how hyphae contribute to mycorrhizae and that kind of stuff?

Took the Ap Bio exam from 1999 yesterday, got so boned. My teacher was alright i guess, but she could of been much better. All she did was put up a powerpoint and skip over a lot of slides saying, “we don’t have time.” Then the powerpoint finishes 1/2 hour before the bell rings and she’s like, ok guys do whatever you want. Skrew you TG.

seriously though, fungi, monerans, prokaryotes, eukaryotes, protist, all animal phylums, are all included in DIVERSITY OF SPECIES section, which is like what 8% of the test?

To tell you the truth, the only thing I know about ascomycota is that they are sac fungi right? and basidiomycota are mushrooms, and then there are club fungi (forgot the name) and deuteromycota-imperfect fungi, has something to do with vaccination or diseases…

I didn’t even know that hyphae contributes to mycorrhizae. I know that mycorrhize is symbiotic with plant roots, and hyphae and mycellium are all parts of fungi. LOL :D

^
I thought basidiomycota were club fungi (ex: mushroom)

Hyphae wrap around plant roots to form mycorrhizae. Anyway, I did see the 8%, but I wasn’t sure how specific the questions would get, so thank you very much. Now I can focus on learning plant structure and function. :D

ah see. i dont know my stuff. mushrooms are club fungi lol i forgot.

I just finished reading and notating the entire textbook. It was an endeavor that took me the entire school year, and I read from 29 to 55 over a period of three months, but I did it.

Time to go to sleep.

ok, in all of the ap bio practice tests that i have taken fungi/monera/protista. Have never come up. And i’ve taken the cb practice questions, barrons, and cliffs. Nothing on fungi, monera, protista.
Is this something they are adding just recently this year?

No.
That stuff is not important.

I have not taken AP Biology but I have taken many other AP classes and used the Cliff Notes study guide. Regardless of the class, I have always found that the practice tests are much more difficult than the actual exam. I wouldn’t worry too much!
