AP Bio Question

Many mammals control their body temperature by sweating. Which property of water is most directly responsible for the ability of sweat to lower body temperature?

Answer is:
-the absorption of heat by the breaking of hydrogen bonds

What I picked:
-the release of heat by the formation of hydrogen bonds

Aren’t hydrogen bonds being formed between the water molecules that make up the sweat? And if body temperature decreases, isn’t heat being released?

The breaking of hydrogen bonds requires heat, therefore taking heat from the skin and lowering the body temperature. If the breaking of hydrogen bonds released heat, your body temperature would increase as the sweat evaporates.

I’m in AP Biology. Should I have a clue to this question? Because I don’t, and we essentially just started done learning about the brain/nervous system
