My son’s school teach him AP Cal AB and he doesn’t have enough time now
to selfstudy AP Cal BC.
If he takes AP Cal AB instead of BC, is it big disadvantage or o.k to apply for IVY schools ?

If it is big disadvantage to him, I want him to self study, even though he is too busy like other busy guys.

If not, I’ll tell him to give up BC test.

Pls advice as we have to sumit the AP test form to school this Friday.

no its not big disatvantage at all especially since the school doesn’t provide the class, the admission officers would look at such things or mabye mention it, its not big deal at ALLL

most ivy schools don’t accept AB…penn for example. That’s why I didn’t take AB in highschool. They are also a bit stingy about college courses so I am taking BC.
It won’t hurt him admission wise but it is sort of useless.

If he’s in the AB CLASS, then the score won’t matter too much, just the class itself. It is much better to see a harder class, rather than the harder test, but as long as he took AB, and if that was the only class he could take, then he would not be at a disadvantage.
