AP Calclus vs. AP Statistics

i’ll be a senior this year and im forced to take one of these cources because i need 4 years of math to graduate and i cant go down a level. so which one should i take.

i plan on becoming a film director, doing some kind of on air broadcaster(radio mainly), becoming some type of writer(screenwriter or journalist).

so does it matter which one i choose? plus i want to make a 95 or higher to help me reach my goal of becoming the salutorian. I made a 98 in Honors Trig if that helps you think which would be easier, or if they both would be easier.

Statistics is generally found to be an easier course. I wouldn’t pick your high school classes based on what your career aspiration is though. That might change in the next few years.

Yea, Stats is way easy, so you could probably get the 95 in it, but like Armando said your career aspirations can easily change, and calculus is pretty useful, but you can always take it in college later on.

no im sure my career aspirations wont change, being that i’m a senior. the ime 4 me 2 figure out what wanna do with my life is now. and those are the things i wanna do. and depending on what colleges i getccepted 2 ill go from there.

Yeah my older brother took ap. stats last year (his senior yr) and he made like a 98 for the year, he said it was an extremly easy class compared to his ab calclus class! I guess its all up to you, but in my opinion i would take ap cal, because it seems like it would be more benefical well in my case and im going to be a senior as well!! well good luck!!

If you are set on your career, than by all means take stats.

Stats. It’s easy and you won’t need calc for what you’re gonna do.

I’m in the same boat. Went and talked to the math department head, and her only concern was that if I went to a school that did require calculus, I’d be really rusty on skills and might have to redo precalc. But as I intend to go into theatre, I think I’m willing to run that risk.
