AP Calculus

Will getting a C+ in AP Calculus destroy my chances of getting into Rutgers Enginerring?

3.79 GPA
2100 on SAT
28 on ACT
720 on SAT II Math II C

If that’s going to be your final GPA, it’ll hurt, but it won’t stab your chances. Have some good EC’s, recs, and essays to make up for it.

RU specifically asks guidance counselors not to send ECs and teacher recs. I have an engineering internship at case western, I have leadership positions in several clubs and I have 3 years of cross country and track.

Really? Wow where have I been, like 100 people I know go to Rutgers.

Yeah that helps then. Internship sounds golden. Shouldn’t harm you too bad, perhaps some awards and stuff?

But really? Don’t like all colleges require the recs? That’s like colleges and ACT/SAT, pretty much all of em require it!

I was talking to my counselor today and she told me that RU asked them to only send transcripts and scores. Yeah, i think i’m fine with ECs. thanks for you help

Yeah but that means you oughta catch up in your Calc finals or something real bad.
They’re probably gonna look at just your grades even more, and math’s a must esp. for engineering.

Have you heard anything about Virginia Tech? you need a 3.6 and a 1798 to get in. Being from New Jersey, it’ll probably cost me like 27.000/year. I’m looking to get a scholarship. Would the fact that I’m Indian and that they have only 7% Asians help me in getting the scholarship?

It won’t help you, they do give out scholarships on a need basis. It may help admission, but I doubt a scholarship. Also you’re out of state, which makes getting a scholarship even harder (I think they’d prefer in staters). Try Stevens or NJIT?

nah. I really like VT. Ill apply for 3rd party scholarships. So no Rutgers engineering for me?
