<p>What do you guys think of this textbook?</p>
<p>I used this book in AP Chem last year (i.e. May 2009 exam), and thought it was pretty good. It’s thorough enough that you can get all the information you need for the exam through reading it once or twice (plus, it’s pretty funny in places, too), and the practice problems are good. It seems to be designed for the AP program, actually, even though it really isn’t. It’s organized well and seems to place its focus on the areas that the College Board focuses on (i.e. equilibria, redox, etc.) and gets a little less in-depth where the AP exam does the same (i.e. nuclear, organic). I felt confident in the class (my teacher was a maniac–a genius, but a maniac) and think I pulled a 5 on the exam, mainly through the practice problems in the book. So I’d say it’s definitely worth it. You may want to look into buying the solutions manual, too, though. For me, it was a must-have and it was extremely helpful.</p>
