ap chemistry question

what is the class like? i was wondering of taking it next year. is there physics in the class room? can people tell me.what are the preparations for the class?

It’s a lot of work compared to other classes. It depends on your teacher.
My teacher expected us to learn it on our own because she has never taught it before.

my teacher made it really easy for us. we literally had no homework, and all we did was take notes and do a bunch of examples in class. i didn’t have to read the textbook or anything, but then again, he did miss a lot of stuff that’s in ap chem. so it really depends on your teacher, and whether you’re a chem guy or not. ask the students who took it from your school because they’ll know about the class

The only physics is some real simple quantum mechanics stuff. Like, you need to know the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. But, I would not recommend you take the class unless you really, really like chemistry, because AP Chem is A LOT different from honors chem, and in my opinion, it has been one of the hardest (if not the hardest) class I have taken up to date.

Don’t scare him off like that!!

Basically I will teach you the H U principle in 2 lines:

Electrons move at superbly fast speeds in orbitals. These orbitals are simply drawings of where electrons are most likely to appear. Hence, UNCERTAINTY.

It would be 0 to 1 questions on the AP exam.

Ask people in your school. In my school, our teacher is ranked 10th at ratemyteacher.com and he makes it pretty easy. You can get an A in my class without any homework. In other schools, they make this a very hard course.

The people who do badly on the tests are those who don’t understand the basic concepts. If you have good retention (be able to vaguely recall things you learned from a while back), then the AP should be a joke.

I’m taking it now and it is probably my favorite class.
