I’m debating whether I should actually take AP English my senior year, and I need help on deciding. I already have AP Calculus BC and AP U.S Gov and politics on my schedule for senior year. There are two main reasons why.
- The teacher is rather stern, strict, and very specific on what he wants and how he wants it done. The fact that it is an AP alone is a bit scary, but not so much compared to the teacher. A lot of kids fail his college prep. classes. HOWEVER, some feel like he will make you a changed person, as he is an English master and almost never forgets his rules.
- I plan to become a computer engineer, so English is not really related to it in a great sense. Should I just take the AP class for the sake of having another AP class to add to the list, or should I take it so I can prepare for the AP test(s)? I don’t want to end up taking the test, waste $90 and have it not go towards anything. Does the AP credit just go towards General Ed. classes in most universities or does it benefit more towards people for a specific major?

Thanks for any suggestions!
