I got a question about class rank and AP’s… first of all, do they rank students by highest GPA or percentile average? and also do AP classes get a GPA boost or wat?

Most of that information varies school by school. As far as class rank goes, it’s probably by whatever’s on your report card. And while some schools offer a GPA boost for taking AP classes, other schools don’t.

Mine’s considering removing the GPA boost for class rank. Our valedictorian one year took one less AP class and a widely-considered less stressful AP load than our second-ranked person, but ended up being the valedictorian because the person whose class rank was #2 took four years of zero-period band that didn’t have the AP weighting…

Oh, the controversy. :)

In my school, AP classes are a boost.

AP classes get a 10% boost (1.1 multiplier) @ my school.
