AP classes only offered during spring semester

My high school operates under a semester system, four classes per semester (block scheduling), and the only time AP courses are offered is during the spring semester.

“Exceptions” to this would be cases like AP Calculus AB, where the first semester is coded as Honors Calculus and the second is AP Calculus AB on our transcripts.

I was just wondering if other schools do this?

I began to think about this because I attended a summer program with other rising seniors and I couldn’t figure out how in the world some other students managed to take six AP courses… that is, until they told me that they took three per semester.

My school runs 7 full year courses.

In terms of college admissions, take only the AP courses that suit your interests and strengths. My school offered a good number of the AP courses.

I only took 6. over four years The 6 that I felt genuinely interested in.

If you feel that cramming all the AP’s you can is the funnest, most productive use of your time than do it. If you’d rather get a job, volunteer somewhere, enjoy a passion. That will come across just as positively. I worked as a retail supervisor and in an alderman’s service office. I had fun during HS make sure you do as well.
