I am a junior who recently transferred from a school that does not offer many AP classes. At my new school there are so many which means my course load will not be as rigorous compared to others. At my old school I was in the top 10% while taking every honors class possible but here I appear like a slacker. So I am wondering whether I should take Spring Band and regular classes or switch out and go to AP government and another AP/Honors. The thing is I really love band and I know I’ll learn a lot. Would Princeton look down upon this? Would they rather more classes or more EC’s. Help! Thanks!

Colleges love a heavy course load, so the more APs you take, the better. However, you must make sure that you are taking classes you will do well in or enjoy. There is no sense in signing up for 5 AP classes if it will be too overwhelming. If you can handle it, then definitely go for the more challenging classes.
Good Luck!
