AP Compsci A or AB?

<p>I have a VERY basic understand of java. My school offers both A and AB but both teacher are incompetent. Previous students have gotten 5’s but they taught themselves out of the text book. Obviously A is easier but do colleges prefer:</p>

<li>Either a 4 on Ab</li>
<li>or a 5 on A?</li>

<p>Since this is the last year of AB, I think taking AB and working really hard to get a 5 would be better, but it really depends on what college you plan on going to. In general though, it’s better to take the harder course load.</p>

<p>If you’re thinking in those terms, take AB. </p>

<p>A 4 on AB will usually get you more credit than a 5 on A. Sometimes even a 3 on AB will get you more credit.</p>

<p>i am kind of in the same dilemma as you, and what i am doing is basically aiming for the ab b/c it is the last year and all, but if in april i do not feel ready, i will just sign up for A.</p>
