AP credit w/GSP

Do you get any AP credit with the GSP program?
I got 5's on 4 AP exams, and am taking 5 more ap exams this year and plan to do well - probably four more 5's and one 4. Do GSP kids even get credit/advanced standing, or is it all a waste?

It will help you transfer out of GSP earlier. You should be able to transfer out one semester early, and you might be able to graduate CAS early as well.

AP credits are NOT a waste.

You need 4's or 5's though for credit.

I thought GSP was required for two years...can you really switch out early? If I get 5's on eight AP exams, would I be able to leave a semester early from GSP?

Depending on what exams you are taking, NYU will potentially give you 32 credits for those 8 exams (8 x 4). 32 credits is a full year of study (16 credits a semester).

Not only will this allow you to switch out of GSP a semester early, but you should have no problem getting your Bachelors from NYU in 3 years if you take the classes you need and do not take excess classes that will not be needed for your major/minor/required.

thanks for all the info
Are you a current student or alumnus, just wondering?
So if I get the 32 credits w/my 8 AP's, does that mean I can switch out of GSP a year early?
I guess I can technically get my bachelors 3 years early this way, but I really want to take a lot of classes unrelated to my major/minor...I'd rather graduate in 4 years to be honest, I want to study abroad a lot and enjoy my college years.

I am a current student. The AP credits will allow you to transfer out of GSP ONE SEMESTER early. Not two.

You do not have to pursue the early CAS graduation, it was just a thought.

that's too bad, I was hoping 32 credits would get me out a year early. I'm not sold on the GSP thing yet but the pamphlets put it in a sketchy light so I'm trying to find out more about it, since the more I find out the better it seems.
