AP credits limits for Students in AEM

<p>I noticed the following from the College of Human Ecology:

AP, IB and Pre-College Credits</p>

<p>For students entering Cornell as first-year students, no more than 15 credits earned elsewhere (e.g. AP/IB, college courses earned in-absentia) may be applied to the 120 credits required for graduation. The College and departments/programs may place additional limits on how AP or in-absentia credits may apply to particular requirements. Students with questions about specific transfer credits should work with the registrar’s office.

<p>Does the above limit of 15 AP credits apply to AEM students?</p>

<p>The following link showed that the AP credits can be received for quite a few courses.</p>

<p>No, AEM is in the College of Agriulture and Life Sciences and thus has a 30-credit limit. <p>(I’ve also emailed and received confirmation from Adrienne Wilson that all accepted AP credit on that CALS website count towards AEM requirements as long as they’re equivalent to a required course.)</p>

<p>Wait, is it just Human Ecology with a 15 credit limit or does CAS have that as well? I thought I saw it once, but I don’t see it anymore.</p>

<p>In CAS, up to 20 non-CAS credits can be applied towards graduation. Inclusive in the 20 credits would be APs and any classes taken in other Cornell colleges or other universities. So if you take an AEM class, an AP, and a class at Yale over the summer, all 3 would count against your 20 credit non-CAS limit. I think the only exception is study abroad (but I’m not sure on that).</p>
