<p>Hey all. I’m in AP English Language and we’re constantly talking about literary elements. All we do is basically look at past AP essay questions and talk about how to approach them. What are some important literary/rhetorical elements to know in addition to:</p>
<p>diction and syntax
use of abstract or concrete language
tone
imagery
alliteration
anaphora
parallel structure
freight-train sentences (polysyndeton)</p>
<p>It seems that my class only talks about the ones above. And by “important” I mean elements that can encompass and describe entire paragraphs, like I couldn’t use “the author uses a simile” as a major point. Thanks!</p>
