AP ENGlish Langauge: REALLY NEED HELP!!

For those who have taken the 2003 AP English Language exam (whether for practice or for real), if you remember one of the essay questions was to take a position on the issue of children who have plagerized and a teacher who intends to punish them harshly.

I wrote an essay that used examples of civil rights for African americans and the current prophet muhammad controversy to argue that support must be given to the people who advocate the morally correct decision even if it is unpopular to masses and then connected it to how support should be given to the teacher. However, after writing my essay which I taught was pretty insightful, i read some sample essays and they all directly answered the question, talking about how if they let the students go with less harsh punishment, then they will not learn anything…does that mean my essay is completely off topic and completely wrong? Please, i need help!

please help i have less that a day left!!

you can take any position as long as you support it
