I got keep getting like a 22 raw score out of 44 for the MC, is there any tips which can help me improve this? Also would this put me in the 4 range?

Improving your score:
- The practice book may be using may be too hard (many of them are insanely difficult).
- If not, the best thing to remember is unless it says in the question “unstated,” the answer is ALWAYS somewhere in the passage…the answers generally rephrase it.

2nd question: a 22 raw / 44 is in the range of a 4…really good essays (all 8s or so) would give you a 5.

I took the AP English Language 2001 multiple choice and got a 50/54. On Cliffs Notes (if you’re using that) I barely get 60% right. Try to find real questions, they’re so much better than prep books.

where did you get the 2001 exam? I used barrons and did horribly. What mc raw score do you need to get a 5?

I bought it on collegeboard.com

you should be in the 43-54 range, but 16% of students in the 36-42 range get 5’s.

in my class we took a real ap eng. from a while ago, and i got a 42/52, and two 7s and an 8 on my essay. this got me a 5! in the cliffs book i did worse, but if your essays are 7s and 8s you can still pull off a 5. practice with real essays and real multiple choice. collegeboard has some examples or ask your english teacher. also make sure you know the literary vocab, and work on reading/comprehending quickly. good luck!
