AP Enviormental Science

Have any of you guys taken ap envio sci? Im taking it right now, and its one of the most interesting classes Ive took, despite our ultra-liberal textbook and slacker teacher. Whereas other ap science classes just go over science concepts, this class actually combines various disciplines of science and puts it into pragmatic use. What do you guys think?

the class is a joke, which consister of memorizing facts and info.

The class is definitely not a joke. If yours was, i’m sorry bc your teacher clearly didn’t do a very good job. You’re right n3rd, APES is different bc a good class will combine factual learning (which, admittedly, can sometimes seem arbitrary on this syllabus, but you’ll be surprised to know that the seemingly random topics covered actually ARE the important issues with respect to the environment that we need to address today) with experiential learning… that is, lots of field work and hopefully a trip or two. You’ll also find that the course encompasses many branches of the hard sciences, along with government and public policy… making it very unique and kind of refreshing in our often tiresome academic careers of rote memorization without obvious practical applications.
