AP Environmental vs. AP Biology

I was wondering which looks better to colleges–AP Environmental or AP Biology. I’m less interested in AP Bio, as I’m taking the Honors version freshman year, but I would like to take the most advanced classes possible. Which would colleges prefer? I’m interested in a mathematics or accounting major at UPenn (as of right now).

AP Bio is a tougher class

Bio.

BIo, by a lot- and somewhate so, as APES is harder than anybody gives it credit for.

I’m going to disagree.

What looks better to colleges is that you have a demanding course load and that you do well in the courses. While I do believe that bio is more difficult, APES is not necessarily a walk in the park. Do not make any academic decisions (or EC decisions for that matter) based upon what colleges will think. Take the class that interests you more/has the better teacher/has a better track record on the AP exam/is more closely aligned to your future plans. The difference to the admissions committee will be negligible; it’s not like you’re planning on being a bio major or asking AP Bio vs. Rocks for Jocks.

Bio is the more demanding AP. But I don’t think iit would make a ton of difference for admissions in your case as you are not going into a science related field. I’d talk to your guidance counselor about it.
