I have big AP Euro test tommorow and I am a bit worried about the multiple choice. Is it really that difficult?

Multiple choice is the hardest section statistically. The Document Based Question is the easiest, and the essay falls in-between.

i have two questions so did martin luther believe that women should be good mothers and wives and did machiavelli state that the people are untrustworthy and can not be depended upon in a time of need

Regarding Luther, I copied and pasted these from my teacher’s notes.

Luther gave dignity to domestic work, stressed the idea of marriage and the Christian home, ended confession, and encouraged education for girls.

Luther held enlightened views on sex and marriage, although he claimed that women should be no more than efficient wives.

Regarding Macchiavelli, I know from my own recollection that he wrote “The Prince”, which stated that the ends justify the means, meaning that emperors and rulers should be strong and rule with an iron-hand, and that they should do whatever they needed to do (the means) in order to assert true power and authority and “dominate” the nobles (the ends)…Therefore, the ends justify the means.

Hope that helps.

-I’m taking AP Euro as well this year as a sophomore on Long Island. Do you use Mckay for your textbook? And it’s also weird because my class had 2 separate tests: One on the Renaissance (Macchiavelli), and one on the Reformation (Luther). It’s surprising that you guys have those 2 subjects in one test. I don’t know about you guys, but we get massive curves (10-15 points per test). I’m probably high-80s to low-90s right now, so it’s not such a bad class.

My Euro class is. EXTREMELY. FRICKIN. BORING. We’re about halfway done with the first quarter, and I doubt I’ll be getting a 5 on the exam. I do all the readings and stuff, but none of it stays. I have an A in the class because we’re graded mostly through open note quizzes. I take good notes and all, but I don’t remember anything. If the quizzes weren’t open notes I’d fail them all.

It’s not so much of an issue with workload either. I took an AP last year, and will be taking 5 exams this year. I have no problem finishing the HW for APEuro but its just so damn boring. Oh, and I had to take this class to fulfill the graduation requirements.

If you work hard all year, you should easily be able to get a 5 on the exam. Hell, I took the class really laid back until about 2 months prior to the exam. I used Barron’s AP Euro in conjunction with REA. I had a good teacher for the class, but the tests he gave were extremely easy. Many got consistent 100’s. I always got 1 or 2 wrong…but while everyone else received a 3 (and a few received 4’s), I got a 5 :D. Regarding Martin Luther, I would agree with the statement that he believed women made good mothers. Regarding Machiavelli, I’m not so sure about that statement. Machiavelli’s “The Prince” was a guide on statecraft, and he stated (paraphrasing) that is better to be feared than to be loved, but never hated.

Edit: Now that I read that statement again, I actually agree. Machiavelli believed that it was not good for a ruler to be hated, for people are untrustworthy and would turn on him (the ruler).

Make sure you’ve read everything and have understood the main concepts… that’s about all you can do.

For those who have taken both, is the AP Euro Exam easier or harder than the APUSH exam? I am taking Euro this year. I took APUSH last year and got a 5.

Yeah collectively I just got a 96 on my first test. He grades the test with three separate parts. 20 multiple choice (40 points) all from previous ap exams, 3 IDs which baasically he gives you a list of 20-30 different people, places, events or ideas which you have to memorize and on the day of the tests he picks three at random (60 points) and one FRQ which is 100 points. I got a 97 on my FRQ, a 97, on my IDs and got two multiple choice wrong. Currently, I have a 97 average. This is an unweighted average, cause they weight ten points onto our average at the end of the quarter. So by the end of this week my UW average in euro is a 97 and my weighted average is 107 ofr Euro.
BTW ifisher 18 I am also a sophmore and my textbook is Palmer’s History of the Modern World and is your final exam the global regents

We are using Palmer too. It seems like a good book.

Jesus…

Take this from the kid who got a 5 on AP euro.
DO NOT READ PALMER. He is boring and only presents the “big picture” of the age.

use the Modern World History book. it is the bible of AP EURO.

I wouldn’t but our IDs and essay questions require palmer and sometimes he gives us pop ID quizes from Palmer
