AP exam scores for top schools?

Do the top schools want you to send the College Board AP Score report to them while applying because that’s a good bit of money for each college?

Or are they fine with just reporting 6 (which i believe is the max allowed on common app) exam scores that you received on AP exams?

Just self-report them, no need to send the school report. If you have more scores that doesn’t fit, use the additional information section.

You only send AP scores upon matriculation.
