AP Exams & General Education Requirements at UCSC

I’m taking a few AP exams in a couple of weeks and I was wondering how my scores on these AP exams will impact my general education requirements/credits at UCSC…
I found this link below, but I was unable to understand exactly what it all means =</p>

[UCSC General Catalog Updates 2005-06](http://reg.ucsc.edu/catalog/html/05_06update/05_06undergrad_apibh.htm#ahta2)

What is an IH?
What is a C-1?
and what is an IS?

Can someone please click on the link and help me decipher what this is all about…
Much appreciated!
Thanks :)

IH- Introductory Humanities course
IS- Introductory Social Sciences course
C1- 1st Composition (Writing) course

Many thanks! :)

thanks again!

do you need one from each section? And do AP/CCC classes count as GE requirements, or are they just credits?
