is it true that the UC’s (or ucsd individually) have a cap of AP classes of only 8 semesters?
meaning that they will only look at 4 AP courses out of however many you have taken? if so does that mean that i should only take 4 aps?

They wont just “look” at 4 AP’s. They will only grade the 4 AP’s like they are AP classes. The rest will be graded as regular classes.

Your GPA will not be boosted by taking more than 8 semesters of AP classes. However, taking more than that still gives you a more rigorous schedule, which will help you get admitted.
