My SAT and my GPA are good enough that I can go to one of the top colleges in the US. Now I am taking an AP class, and I am not sure that I will receive a good grade on the AP Exam (a 4 or a 5). In order to not jeapordize my chances of getting into a top college, what should I do?
Should I not take the AP exam (my grade in the class will probably be good, I’m just not sure about the exam)?
Should I take the exam and tell collegeboard not to send it to colleges?
Or should I take the exam and send it to a college no matter what kind of grade I get?

AP scores are almost always optional or not even considered. The only college that asked for mine were the UCs, and even then it was self-reporting and optional. You should just take the tests and try to do your best.

Take the exam.

It shouldn’t hurt. At all.
