AP Human Geography 2010 Prep

Barron’s does not cover many topics on the test, and it does not give enough examples of which countries have which characteristics. But I think I still got a 5. The topics that Barron’s doesn’t cover is not significant enough to make an AP score difference, unless it appears on the free response (thank goodness they didn’t).

^^^, so true.
Maybe Barron works for other years, but not for this year.
Like I took the Practice Exam, and I thought it was easy…though the practice exam didn’t require you to apply a lot of concepts…maybe it did, but those are things i happened to know…
I guess, I am just making excuses?
But please excuse me, cause I 'm still a little bit bitter over this. Cause I did study hard (not as much as puggly123), it’s just that I don’t know anything about the current global regions and contemporary issues!! I should’ve read more like puggly123.
OK, my vent is finished. Yay! I need to get away from this board to distract myself.

I totally owned the Barron’s practice tests. Then the real test today was much harder. When I got done with the first 10 or so questions I was like “wow, I might get a 3 on this test…” Then I remembered the really nice curve and the fact that you only need around 60% and I stopped thinking that. But still, some of the MC questions were really hard. Not gonna lie.

We just need to chill. The test is done. Whatever happens happens. You can’t do anything to change it now. I’m sure everyone here will get either a 4 or a 5.

i want a hug from someoneee :(

I want my score now! 

Did anyone think that the second part of part A of the last FRQ was hard. I couldn’t think of anything and died inside.

MC - Medium-Hard

FRQ - Easiest thing ever. 100%. Comparative Gov really came in handy ;-)

The question that said describe the two population pyramids in relation to the demographic transition model?

Princeton Review covered this one REALLY well. As in the MC and ALL OF THE FRQS were straight out of it.

Saugus is right, a lot of the question were word for word from PR, except rephrased.

I studied for the test using barron’s flashcards and PR, and that was it, think I got a 5.

MC was pretty good, FRQ 1 was soo easy, 2 & 3 I kinda BS’d.

PR reeeeallly helped!

I regret buying Barron instead of PR.

I flipped through my Kaplan book a few hours ago trying to find the answers to the FRQs and I realized that it gave so much extra information. Barrons truly did provide everything you needed. It was the bare minimum, but it got the job done. Awesome for crammers.

But if you had started early, unlike most of us, it would’ve been great. Barrons is best for crammers and last-minute studiers.

I started 3 weeks before the exam. Took my notes.
Then read the 2nd time the day before the test.
…I guess I should start earlier? Or was my mistake not seeking out other prep books?
If I don’t have my 5, I am considering retake this test next year…
So if I choose so, would my score this year be hidden from colleges? would it be deleted?
I don’t planning majoring in Geo, but I like all my APs to be all 5.

aquamarina- you can cancel your score in June, but after that, I’m pretty sure you can’t. You can retake but I don’t know how that works.

I’m taking the makeup test on thursday and I have barron’s right now. Based on the test friday, do you think i should go out and get the PR book? Is barron’s enough? I still have to learn alot of the material (self-studying it) due to other APs etc (I know, not the best situation).

Also, do you think the makeup will be harder?

Really? So I can’t delete my score after June?
Why did they make such rule?

I don’t know but it’s ■■■■■■■■. They should let you see your score first.

The Barron’s practice tests were way easier, on the 2nd practice test I got 72 right…so then I felt really confident, Friday comes along and I take the real test and realize I was stupid to only study Barron’s. While I felt I knew the Barron’s book well, there were some multiple choice questions I’d never heard of. If you’re self-studyign definitely get something to go along with Barrons.

As for the FRQs, #1 was super easy, #3 I think I got all the points, and #2 I had to completely BS but I think I got around half of it right. My FRQs have to make up for my poor MC performance
