Is this course worth it? I’m entering my junior year, and was told by somebody that this course is a joke, and that the AP exam is ridiculously easy. I’ll take the easy exam, but is the course actually worth taking for a junior, or will colleges laugh at it? also, is it a one or two semester long course?

Take it if you’re really interested in human geography. It definitely won’t be laughed at by colleges but unless you plan on being a geographer and taking those type of classes in college, you’ll probably never use that 4 or 5 on the exam for AP credit in college.

My goal is to get into the Wharton, and with the increasing globlization in the business world today, I felt that this class would be suitable. Cultural knowledge is becoming increasingly important. Do you feel that the class would help me with these needs? Thanks for the input

Most schools won’t give credit for AP HG. I would say self study it because, unless you’re applying as an international relations/finance major, colleges would probably think you took it as a slacker class.

(Mostly because it IS a slacker class.)

My friend is going to Wharton to study economics. He took AP Gov rather than Econ because AP Gov was weighted, and - honestly - much harder. And he got in.

I’d say take a different humanities AP if it’s offered. If not, take HG and get the easy A and 5.

i planned to take it as an independent study anyway. I am also taking AP US government, and AP Comparitive Gov. thanks for the input :)
