Aiight I just finished all the Barron’s review chapters. Getting 12-14 right out of 15 on the review sections at the end of each chapter and my free response is pretty good. So what else to do now? Is the Barron’s harder than the real exam? Is it easier? Same? I just self studied in like 4 days so kind of low on the confidence about this test.

I’m taking it, idk even know if im gonna review maybe im over confident, i dont wanna f up so ill prolly do some freshin up but most kids i know taking it dotn have a concern in their mind

heh just worried. 4 days of self studying doesnt really give me much confidence. Good luck to you. I need to brush up on my exchange rate.

dont worry i think u seem dedicated and probably will feel very comfortable on the test

i think you’ll do fine. macro is pretty easy…i self studied micro today…and i think i have a pretty good handle on it…hopefully my confidence is not misplaced…

Good luck to both of you. Gonna take one practice exam now. Doesnt seem to hard if you keep in mind the different models and factors affecting the markets.

blah. i dont even care anymore. god i almost signed up for micro cause it was free. shudder that would have been the most ■■■■■■■■ thing i could have done-other than sign up to take 4 aps like i did.

I’m taking Macro also, and like you, I’m using the Barron’s book. I’ve heard the sample test isn’t like the actual AP test, but I haven’t heard if it’s harder/easier/just different types of question but same difficulty. My concern isn’t with the difficulty of Macro, it’s with the AP test curve… I’ve heard the curve for the Macro test isn’t as “forgiving” as, say, Calc BC/Bio/USH, etc. I think getting 80%+ of the points is needed for a 5. If anyone can confirm this or (hopefully) say I’m entirely wrong, that’d be great.

Dang. 80+% would be harsh.

my pr book gave this rough formula: MC score + 1.7FrQ1 + 1.5FrQ2 + 1.5*FrQ3 = composite

and it says to get a five on macro you need a composite of 65-90, for micro - 68-90.

but that’s just an estimate.

menosdetres: If you don’t mind, what does it say is for a 4? I need 4s for the college I’m going to next year. Thanks in advance.

no problem jpt

macro:
4: 50-64
3: 41-49
2: 26-40

micro:
4: 54-67
3: 42-53
2: 30-41

… give or take a few

and if that’s right, you could get a perfect score on the MC, and not have to do any of the frq to get a 4. :-)

anyone using princeton review?
hope it’s not bad, cause i’m totally depending on it…

i think of free response as extra credit cuz u wont get marked off for wrong answers.

im going to brush up on micro and macro topics tonight to hopefully do great on the m.c. so i can get at least 4s.

really econ is prob one of the easiest APs out there. all the free response alone correct get u at least a 3.

So according to the Barron’s my composite on the MCs was 33.5 and my FRQs were nearly perfect or around 23 or so total. So about 55 or so. Not too bad considering I finished the test in approx. 35 minutes. Lets hope the test is like this. Please…:).

I am self studying both. I have been doing little bits all year long, but am cramming now. I am using CliffsAP. Has anyone ever used this and had good results? The thing that is really throwing me off is the graphs on the FRQ for Micro and the stuff about multipliers for Macro. Anyone have any advice?

Is elasticity (i.e., unit elastic) on the macro exam??

No its on Micro. Good luck to you I gotta go to bed. Test at 8AM EST.

BC> Try and memorize the equations. That is pretty much the best way of doing this. Good luck on the test.

I hate to ask but what equations exactly should I memorize like how many are they?
