My school offers a class called senior inquiry, and it offers students about 15-20 college credits. Would this be more beneficial to take this, or 2 AP classes? Obviously it would be described in the school profile, but I just don’t know what would impress colleges more. The class is taught by 2 college professors + 1 AP teacher.

Also, I have double early release next semester…will a college adcom think I’m lazy if I don’t fill in one of those slots with a semester course (none of them interest me, that’s why I ask)?

Thanks!

College classes can be more substantive than AP courses, especially if it is transferable and offers that many credits. And it’s a little more unique to have on your application.

So Senior Inq would be a better choice between the two?

I don’t know what would be more impressive but I will say that my DD feels she’s learned a great deal more in her community college classes than in her AP classes. In her case, with the universities she’s looking into, actual college units will do more for her than AP’s.

What program do you think would benefit YOU as a student most? Taking actual college classes will be good prep and likely help your success in university.
