AP Organization

Im taking AP US government and this is my first AP class, and I want to know what you guys do for organization in class binders for any AP class. Since it is a year long class, and there will be a lot of information, I want to find the best way to organize myself.

Also, how do you organize notecards? there will be over 500 notecards and there is no good way that I can think of to keep them all together. help!

Quizlet is the best way for me

I’ve actually never had a binder for an AP test, but I’d recommend a setup similar to my German binder:
Syllabus
Notes
Old Homework
New Homework
Tests/Quizzes
Handouts
Relevant Papers from Previous Classes
Portfolio
Loose Leaf

@awesomepolyglot mine is currently notes, worksheets, study guides, quizzes/tests, frqs/prompts, vocabulary, worksheets, handouts, other. nothing bothers me more than when the teacher doesn’t give out a specific organization!!

You could also ask your teacher “How to succesful students in this class organize their notes?”

@bopper this teacher is all about independence, to prepare us for APUSH and such. so she doesn’t give any guidelines at all like that. she wants us to find out what works for us i guess

I would recommend flash cards for an AP as memory-intensive as AP Gov. Just keep the flashcards in a plastic bag in your backpack ans they should not get lost.
As for binders, I have used a 3" binder for my AP history classes and would recommend this because it can be organized very well. Have a section for each “unit” that your teacher teaches (for example, civil rights, Constitution, landmark court cases, etc.).
