So I have an A in AP Physics 1, but that is because the teacher gives a lot of extra credit and has make-up problems for exams. I am not good at physics whatsoever (so much regret for taking the class lol), and the AP exam is this Tuesday. I’m taking the test, but I don’t think that i’ll pass. I know elite schools really want 4’s and 5’s, but do you guys think that they may not be as annoyed at seeing something like a 2 if the pass rate was really low or if the test was known for being hard?
Hey I’m a sophomore and in AP physics 1 too and the test is on tuesday for me too, but you really don’t have to worry. First of all the curve is hugeee. If you get a 44 to a 63 that’s already a 4. My school makes us take a final before the AP test and i kinda studied and i got a 5 just cause the curve is so big and I’m not even that great at physics. So you really don’t have to worry.
Only 5% of takers scored 5 and 13.6% scored 4 last year. 60% failed.

The percentages might be better because teachers know what to expect this time. And you have an A in class then don’t be discouraged.
Do they know? Yes. Do they care? No
Yes, but the good news is that many of these elite schools don’t offer credit for AP Physics 1 anyway. Regardless, don’t worry about it until July when you get your test scores. If you get a 2, you don;t have to report it on the Common App.
