I’m taking ap physics 1 currently, and I don’t think my class is preparing me for the ap exam that well. Almost all the people who have taken this class last year at my school got either 1 or 2, and no one got a score higher than a 3.
I don’t want to show colleges that I am applying to anything lower than a 3, so I would like to get at least a 3 on the exam.
I heard some people say 5 steps to 5 is too brief, but is it too brief to even get a 3? I personally don’t like physics and I also have other APs and extracurricular to worry about (also, knowing that a lot of colleges do not even give credit for ap physics 1) I really don’t want to spend more than enough time on it.
If you don’t recommend 5 steps to 5, is there any other book you would recommend?
Im going into business, so I don’t think colleges will care so much about my ap physics score. Does anyone think that a 3 is too low yet?
If you are doing an AP course, the goal should be for learning, not for college credit.
If you aren’t aiming to do the best you can you might as well not do it at all.
That said, 5 Steps is meant to be a complement to a school textbook, and is indeed too brief. It’s about 20 pages of actual material. But physics isn’t taught by reading, it’s taught by doing problems. So with that said, the only way you can really study it is by using an actual textbook, and preferably a teacher to run concepts by.
