It seems like most people have a harder time with E&M than mechanics. So, this thread should be a consolidated study guide specifically for electricty and magnetism questions. You can post general inquiries or specific problems from past tests. Just don’t forget to post another question after you have answered one.

First question: what are the right hand rules I should know for magnetism (I know the current carrying solenoid, what else is there?)

wires, moving charges, and usage in Electromagnetic induction

so how do I do them? I actually do know wires too, now that you mentioned it.

There are various ways to do them, seeing as the way I do it differs from the way done in books and taught by my teacher…

^ those are some really helpful simulations. thanks!
(lol one section was titled “magnetostatics”).

I seem to have more trouble with Mechanics than E&M, honestly.
Still, I need some stuff clarified:
I can never tell what the intensity of the magnetic field into/out of the page has to do with determining the direction of flow of the induced current. Why does it matter if its decreasing/increasing into or out of the page? They just tell you that to show that there is a change in flux, right?
