AP Physics/Calc/German Questions

Okay, so this has been bugging me for a while…
I see a lot of people who have taken Physics B/AP Calculus AB the year before they take Physics C/Calculus BC. This isn’t necessary, right? What would be the advantage to this if Physics C/ Calculus BC are just the same courses as the former with extended topics?

And, would Physics Honors be a good preparation for AP Physics (College equivalent, in my case, they don’t offer it at my school), or do we all start off on square one?

About the German…
Do you know books I could self study the AP course from or a place I could take it online? My school only goes up to German 4.

Thanks.

Physics B need not be completed before one takes Physics C, nor is Calculus AB required for Calculus BC.

I’m not sure what you are asking about the Honors Physics class. Obviously, previous experience in physics is helpful for continued study.

in my school Calc AB is required before Calc BC, which sucks
