Hi! I took AP Chemistry last year (when I was a sophomore) I got a 3(i skipped many parts of frq’s). I think 8 people passed in total of those who took it last year. The year before only 3 people passed it and it was only 3’s. But the teacher wasn’t exactly the best of teachers for sophomores. He taught it college style, lecture, lecture, lecture, test. Skill-wise, stoichiometry is like algebra with proportions and all that. You need to know how to apply formulas, conversions. Memorize polyatomic ions. My chem teacher said chemistry is the study of electrons and pounded that into our heads. But that’s my chemistry teacher(who no longer teaches at our school)… maybe your school is different.

I am taking AP physics C right now(didn’t take physics b). Calculus helps a lot. Actually, it is the reverse, I learn calculus in physics first and it helps me in AP Calc AB. However physics is very hard for me. Physics honors was not bad but I am struggling in AP physics C. Since we learn mechanics in one semester and E&M in the other, I feel really pushed. I am still trying to absorb concepts. Could be different in your school.

For me, AP chemistry was hard but easier than what I am going through now in AP Physics C. AP Physics C is the one with calculus, physics b doesn’t have calculus.
