AP Procrastination Stories:

If you waited until the last minute, studied your butt off for 48+ hours straight or something similar AND managed to get a decent score, post your story so that all hope is not lost for those who were lazy or did not manage their time.

Last year: AP World History

Cracked open PR the night before at 6, fell asleep reading it at 7.

Didn’t really do anything in class all year (watched lots of movies (one on string theory, hotel rwanda, etc), sat around, did nothing at all after like 1700, no real tests or hw) except we each had to make 3 power points over the course of the year (we had like 2 wks of study halls each time to make 20-slide powerpts :)). One of my powerpoints was on the Mongols. One was on Triangular Trade/Columbian Exchage. Last years essays: Triangular trade and Mongols :).

I guess this is more luck than procrastination, but yeah, i was lazy, and got a 5.

I’m pretty lazy, and tend to procrastinate. I do tend to pay attention in class or do my homework (one or the other, lol). Though in physics last year (I wasn’t even in the AP class, just the honors one), I never paid attention in class, did my homework only about 2/3 of the time, and crammed for a couple weeks before. Only I’m lazy, so my cramming isn’t like most people’s cramming. And it was an afternoon test, so I stayed home from school that morning (my physics teacher didn’t like that), and crammed hard. It worked. One of the things I learned that morning was on the free response section. I got a 5.

This year, I need to cram for the Spanish exam. (AHHHHH!) And that’s a hard one to cram for. How do you learn a language in less than a week? So we’ll see how cramming works for me this time.

AP Euro last year

Forgot about the test until the week before. a friend asked how my “studying” was going. Went to after-school review and took a practice AP test on CD that Thurs. and read my old notes. Took it Friday afternoon and finished the MC section early. Finished all my essays expect the DBQ (no conclusion). Ended up with a 5.

Not the case this year. Taking three: AP Bio, AP USH, and AP Eng Lang and praying (& studying) for nothing lower that a 4.

AP Psychology:

Cracked open Barron’s the night before, stayed up until 5 AM reading/skimming it/doing practice problems… Slept. Woke up and met my good buddy who was driving us to school to take the exam. MC was insanely easy. FR was straight too (I felt cramped for time). Result = 5

AP (US) Politics and Govt:

My idea of review was watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart at 11 every night… and some CNN/Fox News/Headline News on the side. I pretty much skimmed the PR Review book the night before. Pulled a 4 out of my butt (I was really expecting a 3 due to the harshness of the curve)!

AP U.S History, European

Read the entire textbook a week prior to exams

AP Lang Comp

Did not study for this…when reading multiple choice questions, it dawned on me that the english terminology (ie syntax, iambic pentameter) was rather foreign looking…after finishing exam i cursed myself for wastng eighty-two bucks

results: 4, 4, and 4

now i realize, i still wasted a whole crapload of money since none of these ap credits count…grrr…

APUSH last year.
Did nothing all year.
Read the Sparknotes for American History the weekend before.
Grade=5

Studying? Why study if my college wont take my scores.

I love going into a test cold!

Great thread this is for motivating lazy people to study. haha.

I’m self studying for three ap exams this year, and I’m taking a total of 5.

I’ve studied for three of them (Govt, Psych, and World Hist), but I’ve yet to even look at Human Geography or English Lang (I’m in the english class…but not human geo).

Both exams are monday - let’s just say this’ll be the first weekend in awhile that I don’t go out.

Hehe. I think it motivates lazy people to NOT study seeing that people can wing it the night before and still get a 5.

I’m jealous of all your procrastination skills.

Bring up my post! :)

AP Computer Science A - sophomore year, with the class
I bought a book months in advance. The night before the exam (my first AP ever!), I read through the Barron’s book and took notes on like 5 flash cards of last-minute things I just needed to memorize. I looked over them on the bus to the exam and got a 5.

AP Biology - sophomore year, no class
I hadn’t even taken the class. The day before the exam, while watching TV, I skimmed through a couple books and, like on AP Comp Sci, took notes on a few index cards (parts of the brain, animal phya, etc). Got a 5.

Ehh I’m hoping for 3 more of those stories this year. =P
Monday - English Language (I’m gonna suck at the timed writing, so I won’t try hard), Human Geography (no class –> NEED TO CRAM)
Tuesday - Statistics (NEED TO CRAM)
Wednesday - Calculus AB (taking the class –> I’m good)
Wednesday2 - Chemistry (class–>good), Psychology (NEED TO CRAM)

I know a kid who learned calculus AB within a month of the exam and got a 3.

meh, I don’t think learning calc AB in a month would be hard if you were solely preping for the exam…the FR are very similar each year, and the MC are never that difficult.

lol, where are all the people who crammed and got a 1 or a 2?

I’m sure most of these people took other AP tests as well…not just that “miraculous” 5 they got…;)

I self studied for Human Geography the day before the exam last year and got a 5.

Im hoping I won’t have to attempt to do the same this year but it is looking likely.

I did take other AP tests - scores 5,5,5,5,4,3

during 10th grade i was a pothead. smoked everyday during the week before AP, attended 1 review section, and did the multiple choice in my barrons book. got a 5. However, I’ve always had a natural aptitude for history and remember it very well. I don’t recommend my approach, I know people who studied very hard and got 3s.

APUSH: Crammed for a few hours the night before (got distracted anyway) and got a 5. Go me.
