AP Psych FRQs

How should I practice for them? I am self studying; intend to start in Feb, after the sat date

I would practice a few. They are different from other FRQs because it’s a term based essay. But once you get the hang of it they’re really easy.

Oh, so if I know the knowledge, the FRQs would be easy?

check out ap central

For the most part. The FRQs don’t need intros and conclusions. Actually readers don’t like intros and conclusions, my teacher’s friend was a reader and she said by the end intro just became superfluous and boring to read through. You need to tdrE it.

t-Use the term
d-define the term
r-relate the term to a larger group
E-give an example (it’s in caps because this is where you will actually no most of the writing.)

Here’s a mini example.

Prompt: John is having trouble learning how to drive, relate the following terms to John.
Insomnia
Biological Constraints
Iconic Memory
Shaping

Insomnia (t), a sleep disorder (r), is a disorder which includes difficulty staying asleep, getting to sleep, or waking up early (d). If John was experiencing insomnia he would be acquiring less REM and non REM sleep. The lack of REM and non REM sleep would cause him to be both physically and mentally strained, due to the needs, or biological constraints, of the human body. The strain would result in the further delay of reaction time, thus causing more difficulty responding to the needs of driving. Insomnia can therefore result in delay of reaction time, an important component of driving.(E)

And so on for the other terms.

This is what I was taught, the example is not perfect, I’m still learning too. But I hope that it at least kinda helps. Once you get the style down, they aren’t too difficult.

Thanks for the helpful response!
