AP score submission

Son has five 5s, one 4 and one 3. The 3 was ap euro.
Should he just send them all? The 5s include chem and precal and he’s premed.

I believe Georgetown still requires all standardized tests to be submitted directly from the testing agency so you can’t pick and choose what to report.

Here’s what they say - you can see this on page 2, left hand side of the first link - the second link is their AP Policy which shows they give credit for 4/5 (certain courses, of course).

“We recommend that students who have A.P. (Advanced Placement) scores submit them to supplement their admissions file.”

If you choose to send the scores to Gtown, and I would because they are good, you have to send the official score report because they don’t allow self reporting of scores in their app or in the portal (unless something changes this year.)

Although canceling AP scores is an option (then it won’t show on the official score report), I probably wouldn’t do that for a passing grade of a 3. Good luck to your S.

Georgetown is NOT test optional in any way. If they see an AP class on a transcript, they expect to see an AP exam score reported (even if it’s abysmal). As a Jesuit institution, integrity matters to them. NOT submitting an AP test score (unless the student discloses that s/he did not take the exam–also a red flag as most schools require one to sit for the exam in order to be able to list the class as an AP class) looks fishy. Don’t mess with Georgetown’s system and don’t try to find a work-around. Report all test scores like they ask.

Georgetown doesn’t require AP scores to be reported, unlike SAT/ACT. They would like to see AP scores, but there is no rule that they must be submitted.

I don’t believe most high schools require AP course students to take the AP exam. That varies widely by high school. With AP exams being expensive, it should not be surprising that students might not take them.
